Proud to Be
a B Corp™!

B Corps are for-profit companies certified by the nonprofit B Lab™ to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. We have always been focused on improving our business practices, expanding our support for families around the world, and making our company an inspiring place to work for our team. We are proud to be a Certified B Corp™ since 2011!

We Increased Our Score Again!

The assessment and re-certification process that takes place every few years gets more difficult, and at every recertification since 2016 we’ve risen to the challenge. We are guided by our mission and the commitments we make, and we’re proud to be a part of positive change in our communities and for our planet.

We also received special recognition for the employee benefits we offer while creating a culture of empowerment, and our commitment to our mission through:

  • Our advocacy work for the inclusion of organic baby food in the WIC* program

  • Our free, online chat platform with certified lactation consultants and registered dietician nutritionists that support parents with feeding and nutrition advice, tips, resources, and more.

What Does the Certification Process Involve?

To complete the recertification, we responded to over 250 questions in the B Impact Assessment™ (BIA), covering 5 impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. The BIA is used by over 50,000 businesses worldwide, including over 5,000 Certified B Corps, to help companies assess their impact on various stakeholders.

How we ensure the way we conduct our policies, actions, and affairs considers all stakeholders
How we are taking care of our workers, improving their lives and wellbeing
How we are giving back and contributing positively to the community
How we are using our business to prioritize and take care of the planet
How we are having a positive impact in our customers’ lives

After submitting our assessment, we participated in several review calls with B Lab Analysts to review our documentation and discuss our practices in order to verify our answers. B Lab also randomly selects Happy Family employees to participate in an informal call to understand perceptions of the company and its impact programs.
