  • Innovation & Business Development Associate Manager

    New York, NY

    Happy Family Organics is looking for an Innovation and Business Development Associate Manager to join our marketing team in our New York City office. The Associate Manager will be responsible for leading consumer research, launching new product innovations, and tracking our new product launches and competitive analytics. This role will partner closely with our cross-functional team of food scientists, project managers and ops experts to ensure launch success. As a company founded on creating innovative, organic food products, Happy Family places a lot of importance on our ability to innovate in an agile way across multiple categories. Additionally, the Associate Manager will work on various business development and companywide strategic growth projects. This role will report into our Innovation and Business Development Manager.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Product Development – help lead the cross-functional team in project management of innovations including packaging, formulation, and design.  Focus on Baby & Toddler base business and Special Packs.
    • Business Analytics and Competitive Tracking – responsible for monthly competitive analysis and tracking new innovation launches and sharing these out with marketing and sales teams.
    • Consumer Research – lead consumer research on strategic initiatives to help define growth opportunities in new and current categories in which we play.
    • Innovation Planning – work with the Innovation & Business Development Manager on baby and toddler innovation planning, including analysis of potential categories for expansion.
    • Consumer Marketing – while not directly responsible for the marketing plan, the Associate Manager will be an active member of the marketing team and will participate in this creation of marketing strategies.
    • Strategic Projects – take on additional strategic projects for Happy Family.

     

    Desired Skills & Experience:

    You are enthusiastic about organic food, nutrition and health – and want to learn or deepen your experience in marketing/brand management, innovation and business development. You have extensive experience doing primary and secondary research, have worked in marketing or consulting, and are very detail oriented.  You have experience analyzing market opportunities (though not necessarily in CPG) and are very comfortable in Excel.  You are a self-starter who can work independently with a moderate level of guidance.  You are passionate about our Happy Family mission to change the trajectory of children’s health in the US by partnering with parents from the beginning of their journey and beyond!

    Qualifications:

    • BA required
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant marketing, innovation or experience in a consumer goods business
    • Experience with project management and managing timelines, operations, and logistics, ideally in a consumer goods business
    • Strong in excel modeling, data analytics and powerpoint
    • Some experience with Syndicated/POS Data (IRI, Nielsen, SPINs, Amazon etc.)
    • A go-getter attitude with a strong work ethic and ability to fully own strategy work and tasks
    • Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn quickly
    • Ability to multi-task with varied skill-set and ability to develop new skills outside of comfort zone.

  • Customer Logistics Specialist

    Boise, ID

    Headquartered in New York City, Happy Family Brands is a fast growing company in the organic baby and toddler food business. This company was recently acquired by a major multi-national food company.  The company is committed to making healthy and delicious food for today’s young family with the essential nutrients needed for optimal growth and development. The Company’s Operations Department, including its Customer Service/Logistics and Accounts Receivable functions, is located in Boise, ID. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service and maintaining strong professional relationships with assigned customers, sales teams, and the internal operations team. The Customer Logistics Specialist will lead the order-to-delivery process for assigned accounts and will drive internal and external opportunities and partnerships for long-term business growth and profitability.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Manage logistics from the warehouse to delivery order ensure on time performance and excellence in customer service level.
    • Lead the application of WMS, TMS and SAP, or other data sharing tools and processes to improve order patterns, support sales volume growth, and optimize supply chain efficiency both internally and externally.
    • Engage with assigned customers to identify logistics opportunities and align with operations and sales to maximize efficiency and identify cost savings opportunities
    • Identify internal opportunities to improve service to customers.  Work with partners to implement initiatives that can be shared across customers, geographies, and business units.
    • Tracking shipments vs. plan performing gap analysis on order pacing and communicating gaps to the customers.
    • Responsible for providing information for monthly KPI’s and insight for future process improvements.
    • Professionally and promptly resolve customer questions and problems by thoroughly researching issues, identifying root causes and offering solutions.
    • Demonstrate good business judgment by knowing how to prioritize critical tasks during busy seasons. Complete related records, reports, and documentation required to support assigned customers.
    • Collaborate with other departments as necessary to process orders: secure appointments and clarify transportation requirements.
    • Actively participate in metric reviews including on-time availability and delivery.
    • Provide support for promotional events and resets by working with warehouse and transportation 3PL by proving proactively communicating expectations with internal and external partners.
    • Understand company priorities to execute key business decisions and communicate outcomes
    • Initiates and manages executing timely returns by following and improving SOP.
    • Monitor warehouse capacity and communicate with the VP of Customer Solutions to ensure monthly KPIS are met, budget landing expectations are met, and anticipate and mitigate future issues.
    • Responsible for successfully executing unique logistics requirements of priority customers to ensure excellence in high customer service metrics
    • Responsible for timely logistics communication to customers, including but not limited to order status, rescheduling, and delays.
    • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of EDI information including but not limited to routing and Advanced Shipment Notices.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor Degree required, preferably in business or related studies
    • Minimum 3 years related experience Customer Service, Logistics, or Supply Chain function.
    • Prior Product Planning experience required
    • Capability to travel up to 10%
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast track environment
    • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
    • Operations, finance and profit/loss management experience is a plus

  • Office Manager/Assistant

    Happy Family Organics is looking for an Office Manager/Executive Assistant to assist us in keeping an organize and well-coordinated office.  We are looking for a high energy person with great organizational skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assesses the needs of the office and execute tasks required to be more productive during the work day
    • Accommodate the needs of visitors booking hotels and/or running necessary errands
    • Assist in organizing on boarding program for new employees.
    • Manages inventory of onsite Happy Family product for samples and marketing
    • Create gift and care packages for individuals, donations and outreach events
    • Evaluates office budget and expenses while identifying areas to save or negotiate lower costs.
    • Communicates and negotiates pricing with vendors.

  • Digital Marketing Strategist

    Happy Family Organics is looking for a Digital Marketing Strategist who will be responsible for paid social, cross-channel reporting and publisher relationships.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Own paid campaigns across social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and any new channels that become a focus
    • Lead strategic direction and implementation of channel(s) and use data to make tactical decisions on budget, spend allocation and creative planning
    • Build testing roadmap and create paid social calendar
    • Build and Track KPIs included in reporting
    • Stay up to date and identify opportunities stemming from competitors, industry trends, platform updates
    • Manage reporting daily metrics and create actionable recommendations considering insights and optimization opportunities

  • Demand Planning Analyst

    Boise, ID

    The Demand Planning Analyst will be a key player in the forecasting process, business intelligence, and information gathering from sales, new product development, operations, finance, retailers, and other sources. This position will be responsible for creating stories within the Sales & Operations Planning and for communicating any risks and opportunities of the retailers that they are responsible for. The Demand Planner will additionally be responsible for database creation, ad hoc data queries, and compilations as necessary to support the all of SC Planning process, i.e. Product Life Cycle Management and S&OP. High levels of mathematical and analytical proficiency are critical to the performance of this role, as are the traits of objectivity, collaborative, and growth mindset.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Structure, validate, manage, and analyze large amounts of data to create a forecast that reflects past performance and future opportunities and risk
    • Experienced in market research (Nielsen / IRI) data and able to transform those data into dependent variables to the shipment forecast
    • Collaborate with the Category Management and Sales Planning team to ensure that forecast follows the trend (i.e. Demand Sensing)
    • Assist in developing and automating processes for reporting and identify the drivers of the variance in monthly forecasts
    • Prepare and present reports, charts, and tables detailing these market factors to help inform marketing and supply planning
    • Identify improvement to the processes within the department & adjacent departments to ensure an almost error-free plan that can be used for decision making and execution
    • Work with leadership team to understand business performance/gaps and define supply chain services needed to address these business performance/gaps
    • Assisting in identifying critical customers and dates with the Sales and Category Management Team
    • Provide insights to market and category data from IRI platform to inform creation of NPI forecast, SKU optimization process, and 3rd party manufacturing production plan
    • Experienced in ad-hoc analysis with unstructured data that can be used to help decision making in the S&OP monthly process.
    • Experienced in database management and creation (SQL), able to start collecting data and program in SQL to transform our unstructured data into structured SQL database
    • Create a dashboard to track KPIs that is relevant to the Demand Planning and adjacent departments to identify driver of changes in the plan and ensure data integrity

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, MS in Economics, Business Analytics or other quantitative majors.
    • 2-4 years’ experience in Demand Planning with data analysis, modeling and supply chain analysis
    • Motivated by problem solving and finding systematic solutions to issues
    • Experience in CPG, Food and Beverage, Apparel industry
    • Experience with an Advanced Planning/Decision Support Systems such as Logility or Garter Leader Quadrant systems
    • Knowledge in Power BI and SQL
    • Expert analytical, modeling, statistical skills and analysis with attention to detail
    • Programming experience or through university coursework (VBA)
    • Expert (at least 2 St. deviation above average) in Excel (e.g. data manipulation, charts, and complex formula)
    • Ability to understand complex business requirements and define planning tools that enable successful management of demand plans

    • IBF CPF, CPIM or CSCP certification is advantageous

  • Supplier Quality & Food Safety Associate

    Boise, ID

    Happy Family Organics is looking for a Supplier Quality & Food Safety Associate to actively develop and manage ingredient specifications, to review all ingredient and packaging quality documentation, to provide a full support service where quality problems occur for ingredient materials, and to evaluate the suppliers’ current performance and compare this to our quality performance expectations.   This position is part of a larger team responsible for Quality & Food Safety compliance and improvement for the entire Happy Family Organics portfolio.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Organize and maintain technical documentation and records in multiple databases.
    • Work closely with Research & Development, Procurement, and Operations departments to qualify new ingredients and suppliers, including developing technical specification documents for new ingredients.
    • Manage ingredients non-conformities by filing quality issue reports to the suppliers, following up on root cause and corrective actions, and tracking non-conformities trends.
    • Evaluate the suppliers’ current performance based on quality performance metrics.

    Qualifications:

    • BSc, in Food Technology, Food Safety, Biology, Chemistry, English, Veterinarian Medicine or similar educational background.
    • Capable of managing projects and working in project teams with set targets and time frames.
    • Effective communication; written/verbal.
    • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Organized and process oriented.
    • Strong attention to detail.

  • Information System Specialist

    Happy Family is looking for an Information Systems Specialist to support the diverse information systems in place.  This position interacts with staff across multiple departments. This position demonstrates the ability to communicate and interact in a multi culture environment with dynamic web of systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the Information Systems Director in managing the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system, Transportation Management System (TMS) system and related supporting systems.
    • Lead the development and implementation of a broad, coordinated set of plans and programs to meet the goals and priorities of project sponsors
    • Work closely with Supply Chain/Operation departments to analyze existing processes and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of all information systems.
    • Coordinate and provide training to internal teams on specific areas in SAP B1

    • Operate as a communication link between IS and all internal business partners.

    Qualifications:

    • BS in Computer Science, or BBA Information Systems, or degree in related field

    • High aptitude for understanding and supporting business processes involving manufacturing supply chain, sales, accounting and finance are essential.
    • Must possess above average troubleshooting, interpersonal, and communication skills.
    • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, business analysis, and complex problem-solving skills.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to prepare and maintain records and respond to correspondence.
    • Lean Six Sigma or similar certification preferred
    • Sequel Query writing experience

  • Food Scientist

    Happy Family Organics is looking for a Food Scientist to join our Research and Development team in Boise, Idaho. This position will coordinate all steps of product development, from concept to commercialization, for a new baby, toddler and kid products. S/He will apply food science and technology principles to new and existing products. Additionally, will be responsible for leading and executing challenging product development projects and providing expertise to bring new innovation to the market and grow the category.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and execute new food product development for dry shelf stable products
    • Design and complete all R&D technical tasks including but not limited to: shelf-life studies, sensory analysis, and product testing
    • Proactively identify new innovation opportunities and research on new functional ingredients that can be used in the product
    • Ability to conduct a literature review to seek technical solutions and build the technical knowledge base
    • Drive innovative ideas and assess technical feasibility for new products
    • Plan and lead all product trials (pilot plant and industrial) at the co-manufacturing facility
    • Drive accountability by identifying the critical path, key milestones and risks related to all product development project tasks
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of US Food Labeling and National Organic Program Regulations and ensure product compliance with FDA and USDA requirements
    • Lead cross-functional meetings with key stakeholders to align on risks, opportunities, and technical recommendations
    • Closely collaborate and support Project Manager to effectively execute product development milestones
    • Leverage relationships with Marketing, Quality, Operations, and Regulatory teams to ensure the development of innovative, high-quality products and maintain current speed to market
    • Continuously develop and grow a professional network to identify innovative products, technologies, services, and market opportunities
    • Support R&D director with project portfolio management and department organizational tasks
    • Continuously seek ways to improve product quality and integrity to better serve the consumer

    Qualifications:

    • S/ M.S: Food Science or related fields
    • Industry experience (4+ years New product development / Food Technology/ Food Processing experience)
    • Understanding of project management fundamentals
    • Prior experience in dry food technologies (extrusion, drum drying, baking, freeze-drying)
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to successfully build and leverage internal and external relationships
    • Effectively navigate complex situations while influencing key stakeholders
    • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
    • Open-minded, self-directed, creative, growth-mindset and team player
    • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite
    • Up to 30% travel including flying in the US as well as internationally
    • Driver’s license required
