  • Sales Planning Associate

    New York, NY

    Happy Family is looking for a Sales Planning Associate to work with our Director of Sale Planning to manage and maintain all company trade promotions. This person will work with our field sales managers, finance and demand planning to develop accurate and timely forecasts and drive the planning process from the sales/customer perspective. The Sales Planning Associate is responsible for managing the input of all company promotions into the trade management software. Success will be measured by accuracy of inputs and the impact of tracking on trade spend. The Sales Planning Associate will report to the Director of Sales Planning.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Enter and maintain trade promotions in trade management software
    • Maintain high levels of accuracy, process consistency and documentation in planned promotions
    • Support the sales team in organizing and maintaining the most up-to-date promotional plan for all customers
    • Run reports on promotion volume and efficiency
    • Other ad hoc projects in sales operations to improve deduction management
    Desired Skills & Experience

    You have some experience in consumer goods with either a familiarity or interest in sales planning. You are a self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently with a moderate level of guidance.

    You are enthusiastic about nutrition and are passionate about our Happy Family mission to change the trajectory of children’s health in the US by partnering with parents from the beginning of their journey and beyond!

    Qualifications:

    • BA/BS required

  • Junior Designer

    Boise, ID

    The Happy Family Junior Designer works in Boise with the Sr. Design Projects Manager to support our Design Team. They will help with all design aspects of the brand including packaging, digital, print, and internal communications.   This designer is excited about innovation and proactive in understanding the current set of standards within the brand. Some experience in digital and print is a must have and they should have an interest in learning more about packaging design. The designer is motivated, organized and able to think and execute creatively across all visual assets for packaging, web and print. They are self-starter while being willing to ask questions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Makes minor edits to existing packaging designs
    • Designs digital ads and other web-based designs from existing standards
    • Creates packaging renders
    • Creates sell sheets, coupons, and other Sales Team needs
    • Creates Power Point imagery and individual slides for the Marketing and Sales teams
    • Helps with full Power Point presentations for different departments
    • Attend press checks to ensure print quality is consistent across the brand
    • Helps with organization of printer specs, capabilities, etc.
    • Provides general assistance with miscellaneous creative tasks for the greater team
    • Coordinates with the Sales Director and comp house to have comps made from existing files
    • Coordinates samples from printers to keep in house/send to Sales team
    • Overall touch points will be packaging design, promotional materials, marketing collateral, digital assets, and presentation materials

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years experience in graphic design
    • Bachelors in Graphic Design or related certificate
    • Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Power Point
    • Understanding of the constraints and capabilities of web technologies
    • Portfolio that features a mix of branding, typographic & self-initiated work including both web and print-based design
    • Illustration and hand rendering skills a plus
    • Experience in packaging design or directly with printers a plus
    • Must be a self-starter and be able to work without micro-management

  • Operations Finance Senior Analyst

    Boise, ID

    The Operations Finance Sr. Analyst will play a key role in Happy Family by supporting the Operations Finance Controller in implementing initiatives to ensure finance performance animation, bringing visibility and transparency to material costs & manufacturing results, and engaging and guiding the business through developing keen insight to both supply chain project and innovation project financial viability.   S/he should build strong relationships with the Operations teams, challenge them to arrive at the best decision for our business, and seek to influence and persuade to gain desired outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The Operations Finance Sr. Analyst’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Provide Analytical Support on Operations Financial Performance
        • Monthly, performs variance analysis, analyzes financial results versus budget/forecast, and provides commentary that helps identify performance drivers and root causes of variances to objectives
        • Educate & support the department heads, in understanding & managing their expenses
        • Provide strong ad hoc financial and business analytic decision support
        • Propose new tools and/or new processes that can help improve monitoring, transparency, reporting and performance.

     

    • Support the Finance Planning & Forecasting Process
        • Actively participate & continuously improve the internal and external monthly forecasts & annual budget, in cooperation with all departments
        • Ensure execution toward hitting the financial performance targets (margin, profit, cash flow)
        • Effectively and efficiently follows up on deviations and initiates action to fill the gaps vs Target

     

    • Support Operations Group Decision Making with Financial Preparations for Business Cases
        • Lead and facilitate COGS preparations for business cases & provide support during the Innovation process, coordinating with Business Development, Sales, R&D and Operations.
        • Lead COGS preparations for operational cost savings initiatives, gaining alignment between involved parties on key assumptions and supporting the decision-making process.

     

    This position reports directly to the Operations Finance Controller.

    Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
    • Minimum 4-6 years of financial analyst experience preferably in a multinational FMCG context; previous exposure to operations / manufacturing controlling
    • Minimum 1-2 years of experience with standard cost accounting and variance analysis
    • MBA, MSc or CPA preferred
    • ERP Systems experience (SAP preferred)
    • Must possess Expert Excel skills with the proven ability to produce high end work products suitable for analysis.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Thinks systematically, has expert analytical skills. Can deal with big data sets and can and will perform analysis on the lowest detail level if needed

  • Junior Food Scientist

    Boise, ID

    Happy Family is looking for a Junior Food Scientist for the Boise, Idaho location. This position will take a role in the development of the new baby, toddler and kids food products from concept to product launch as part of the Research and Development team. Applies food science and technology principles to new product development, product line extensions, product/process improvements, and maintenance of existing products.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop innovation products according to the project brief to achieve cost targets, nutritional profile, ingredient statement, and desired attributes of the target product
    • Understand the technical aspects of food formulation and product processing
    • Closely collaborate with Project Manager, Marketing, QA, Regulatory, and Operations team
    • Organize and lead bench-top trials, pilot plant and production trials in co-operation with the manufacturing R&D team
    • Support cross-functional team to assess technical risk at every stage gate step from concept through product launch
    • Ensure that ingredients meet regulatory requirements and specifications. Set the sensory standards and physical-chemical parameters for internal ingredient specifications
    • Analyze nutritional content of developed products using Genesis ESHA program and align with Regulatory team
    • Ensure finish goods compliance with FDA & USDA government regulations for organic
    • Design, organize, and document shelf life studies of owned formulations
    • Provide technical support for customer service, production and QA teams to identify and solve products related problems
    • Maintain lab space organization and ensure food safety procedures are followed
    • Proactively identify new innovation opportunities and research on new functional ingredients that can be used in the product

    Qualifications:

    • 2-3 years of experience in product development within a food manufacturing environment
    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Food Technology
    • Experience with food manufacturing process (thermal processes, extrusion)
    • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, basic quality testing and food safety issues
    • Prior sensory analysis experience – nice to have
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
    • Positive, can-do, proactive attitude and strong work ethic
    • Flexible and self-disciplined to deliver meaningful results on time in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
    • PC skills: Microsoft Office, Genesis ESHA
    • Travel approximately 10%-15%, to participate in R&D commercialization trials and productions at various manufacturing facilities

  • Food Scientist

    Boise, ID

    Happy Family Organics is looking for a Food Scientist to join our Research and Development team in Boise, Idaho. This position will coordinate all steps of product development, from concept to commercialization, for a new baby, toddler and kid products. S/He will apply food science and technology principles to new and existing products. Additionally, will be responsible for leading and executing challenging product development projects and providing expertise to bring new innovation to the market and grow the category.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and execute new food product development for dry shelf stable products
    • Design and complete all R&D technical tasks including but not limited to: shelf-life studies, sensory analysis, and product testing
    • Proactively identify new innovation opportunities and research on new functional ingredients that can be used in the product
    • Ability to conduct a literature review to seek technical solutions and build the technical knowledge base
    • Drive innovative ideas and assess technical feasibility for new products
    • Plan and lead all product trials (pilot plant and industrial) at the co-manufacturing facility
    • Drive accountability by identifying the critical path, key milestones and risks related to all product development project tasks
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of US Food Labeling and National Organic Program Regulations and ensure product compliance with FDA and USDA requirements
    • Lead cross-functional meetings with key stakeholders to align on risks, opportunities, and technical recommendations
    • Closely collaborate and support Project Manager to effectively execute product development milestones
    • Leverage relationships with Marketing, Quality, Operations, and Regulatory teams to ensure the development of innovative, high-quality products and maintain current speed to market
    • Continuously develop and grow a professional network to identify innovative products, technologies, services, and market opportunities
    • Support R&D director with project portfolio management and department organizational tasks
    • Continuously seek ways to improve product quality and integrity to better serve the consumer

    Qualifications:

    • S/ M.S: Food Science or related fields
    • Industry experience (4+ years New product development / Food Technology/ Food Processing experience)
    • Understanding of project management fundamentals
    • Prior experience in dry food technologies (extrusion, drum drying, baking, freeze-drying)
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to successfully build and leverage internal and external relationships
    • Effectively navigate complex situations while influencing key stakeholders
    • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
