  • Senior Designer

    New York, NY

    The Happy Family Senior Designer creates solutions for the brand across packaging and marketing needs. They communicate and help visualize for all teams from marketing, digital, sales and more. This designer is excited about innovation and proactive about moving the brand, making sure we are always the leader in the category. Strong typography and graphics skills are a must along with the ability to utilize various programs.  The designer is motivated, organized and able to think and execute creatively across all visual assets for packaging, web and print. They are able to translate innovative design with production in mind and understand the needs of each substrate and print method.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conceptualize, create sketches, pull inspiration, and present design ideas to the Creative Director and marketing teams
    • Work very closely with the rest of the design team to craft and roll out lines across many different mediums
    • Often work with printers, stylists and photographers to make our graphics ownable and unique
    • Learn our production needs to make sure all designs are printable
    • Design packaging and communications concepts, making sure our ownable point of view continues to be a leader among the many competitors in the baby food aisle
    • Push creative solutions to new levels and provide unexpected design choices while still respecting the overall brand language, mission and tone
    • Be responsible for reviewing samples and proofs sent from the vendor for quality control and perfect execution
    • Attend press checks to ensure print quality is consistent across the brand
    • Provide general assistance with miscellaneous creative tasks for the greater team
    • Focus on evolving the Happy Family visual language, keeping us a leader in the market while holding together all lines: Baby, Tot, Mama & Kid
    • Understand that the overall touch points will be Packaging Design, promotional materials, marketing collateral, digital assets, event designs, and presentation materials

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years experience in packaging design
    • Bachelor’s in graphic design or related certificate
    • Expert knowledge of Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
    • Basic knowledge of InDesign and Powerpoint a plus – additional knowledge will be learned
    • Experience designing the 360 experience of a brand
    • Understanding of the constraints and capabilities of printing
    • Basic understanding of the constraints and capabilities of web technologies
    • A portfolio that features a strong mix of branding, typographic, & self-initiated work
    • Illustration and hand rendering skills a plus

  • Brand Marketing Associate

    New York, NY

    Happy Family Organics is looking for a Brand Marketing Associate to join their team. The Marketing Associate will be responsible for working with our Brand Marketing Director to execute and drive various elements of communication, channel, and overall marketing strategy. He/she will take a highly active role in delivering against in-year and longer-term marketing objectives, driving best in class marketing activation and implementation.  As part of a passionate and nimble team, he/she will help ideate and manage end-to-end brand campaigns along with our agency partners, own competitive comms analysis and insights sharing, assist with product launch comms, physical activation and events, and identify, facilitate and manage brand partnerships across channels (social, digital, email). The ideal candidate will be proactive, strategic, creative, and able to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously – he/she loves both work shopping new brand-building campaigns as much as owning relationships with influential mom-bloggers and is constantly thinking about how to innovate across the marketing mix to drive awareness, brand love & loyalty for Happy Family.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Brand Strategy – support optimizing communication and channel strategy by leading competitive comms / social listening intelligence, parenting trend monitoring, & team sharing. Lead a closed-feedback loop of insights sharing across the organization and with agency partners.
    • Brand Planning – assist in managing and executing the marketing calendar, determining timing, and facilitating communication between key stakeholders externally and internally. Own execution of initiatives ranging from identifying brand partnerships with like-minded companies, to cross promotions (social/email and/or product) with influencers and brands, to experiential marketing.
    • Own authority SEO strategy and identify, build, grow and nurture relationships with influential bloggers.
    • Proactively manage year-long lifestyle asset calendar. Work with creative team to develop assets and other items needed to execute campaigns across channels.
    • Agency Support – drive execution alongside agency partners – including leading briefing process for new innovations, managing weekly meetings & timely follow-up and routing approvals with key stakeholders.
    • This role will report into the Director of Brand Marketing.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years’ experience in marketing

  • Category Strategy Associate

    New York, NY

    Happy Family Organics is looking for a Category Strategy Associate to partner with our sales and marketing teams in identifying key sales trends and providing support on projects including assortment, merchandising, pricing and shelving across the retail landscape. This person will use a variety of internal and external data sources to support the optimization of our performance across customers. Success will be measured by increased sales and the ability to ultimately position Happy Family Organics as category thought leader.   The Category Strategy Associate will report to the Director of Category Management and Planning .

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop, distribute and analyze standard monthly reporting
    • Manage our custom databases and relationships with a variety of 3rd party data vendors
    • Be the go-to analytical support for field sales providing business overviews, opportunity gaps, and helping build sell stories
    • Support the internal innovation teams on key marketplace trends and competitive activity
    • Provide space and assortment recommendations for key retailers using space management software

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in consumer goods with either a familiarity or interest in category management principles.
    • Ability to work autonomously to research, develop and analyze strategic trends to support sales within each channel. You are a self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently with a moderate level of guidance.

  • Junior Food Scientist

    Boise, ID

    Happy Family is looking for a Junior Food Scientist for the Boise, Idaho location. This position will take a role in the development of the new baby, toddler and kids food products from concept to product launch as part of the Research and Development team. Applies food science and technology principles to new product development, product line extensions, product/process improvements, and maintenance of existing products.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop innovation products according to the project brief to achieve cost targets, nutritional profile, ingredient statement, and desired attributes of the target product
    • Understand the technical aspects of food formulation and product processing
    • Closely collaborate with Project Manager, Marketing, QA, Regulatory, and Operations team
    • Organize and lead bench-top trials, pilot plant and production trials in co-operation with the manufacturing R&D team
    • Support cross-functional team to assess technical risk at every stage gate step from concept through product launch
    • Ensure that ingredients meet regulatory requirements and specifications. Set the sensory standards and physical-chemical parameters for internal ingredient specifications
    • Analyze nutritional content of developed products using Genesis ESHA program and align with Regulatory team
    • Ensure finish goods compliance with FDA & USDA government regulations for organic
    • Design, organize, and document shelf life studies of owned formulations
    • Provide technical support for customer service, production and QA teams to identify and solve products related problems
    • Maintain lab space organization and ensure food safety procedures are followed
    • Proactively identify new innovation opportunities and research on new functional ingredients that can be used in the product

    Qualifications:

    • 2-3 years of experience in product development within a food manufacturing environment
    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Food Technology
    • Experience with food manufacturing process (thermal processes, extrusion)
    • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, basic quality testing and food safety issues
    • Prior sensory analysis experience – nice to have
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
    • Positive, can-do, proactive attitude and strong work ethic
    • Flexible and self-disciplined to deliver meaningful results on time in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
    • PC skills: Microsoft Office, Genesis ESHA
    • Travel approximately 10%-15%, to participate in R&D commercialization trials and productions at various manufacturing facilities

  • Product Development Manager

    Boise, ID

    Happy Family Organics is looking for a Product Development Manager to join our Research and Development team in Boise, Idaho. This position will coordinate all steps of product development, from concept to commercialization, for a new baby, toddler and kid products. S/He will apply food science and technology principles to new and existing products. Additionally, will be responsible for leading and executing challenging product development projects and providing expertise to bring new innovation to the market and grow the category.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and execute new food product development for dry shelf stable products
    • Design and complete all R&D technical tasks including but not limited to: shelf-life studies, sensory analysis, and product testing
    • Proactively identify new innovation opportunities and research on new functional ingredients that can be used in the product
    • Ability to conduct a literature review to seek technical solutions and build the technical knowledge base
    • Drive innovative ideas and assess technical feasibility for new products
    • Plan and lead all product trials (pilot plant and industrial) at the co-manufacturing facility
    • Drive accountability by identifying the critical path, key milestones and risks related to all product development project tasks
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of US Food Labeling and National Organic Program Regulations and ensure product compliance with FDA and USDA requirements
    • Lead cross-functional meetings with key stakeholders to align on risks, opportunities, and technical recommendations
    • Closely collaborate and support Project Manager to effectively execute product development milestones
    • Leverage relationships with Marketing, Quality, Operations, and Regulatory teams to ensure the development of innovative, high-quality products and maintain current speed to market

    Qualifications:

    • S/ M.S: Food Science or related fields

    We are looking for an innovative, thoughtful, forward-thinking, and highly skilled Senior Copywriter to join our Happy Family team. This person will lead the company’s voice, messaging, and copy strategy for Happy Family Organics across our physical products, packaging, owned/earned/paid marketing channels, website, and ecommerce. The role will report into the Director of Brand Marketing.
