Our Sensitive formula is made with reduced lactose, while our new A2 formula is made with organic A2 milk sourced from selectively bred cows that only produce A2 beta casein. Additionally, our new A2 formula includes our patented blend of probiotics and prebiotics, which is clinically shown to support softer, more regular poops for your baby [compared to formulas without prebiotics and probiotics]. Our Sensitive formula included prebiotics only.

Our A2 formula is modeled after breast milk, including protein similar to the protein ratio found in breast milk, 60% whey to 40% casein. Our Sensitive formula had a whey to casein ratio of 30% to 70%..

The only difference between A2 milk and traditional milk is that the A2 variety does not contain the A1 beta-casein protein, which may be difficult for some people to digest, instead it is sourced from selectively bred cows that only produce A2 Beta casein. Seeing increasing demand for A2 milk products, we’ve developed a formula that includes our unique prebiotic/probiotic blend and features A2 milk – giving parents added peace of mind they can expect from our patented blend, to help support digestive health and immune system development.

Distilled water for babies is safe to use with their formula on occasion, or alternating with tap water. Distilled water has no electrolytes or minerals that baby may need. Talk to your baby's pediatrician before using distilled water in their baby formula if that's something you're interested in.

If possible, use clean, fluoridated tap water to make your baby's formula. In the United States, the Environmental Protection Agency regulates tap water and sets legal limits for certain contaminants. Tap water is almost always the safest option for your baby, as long as there's no known local contamination. If you're worried about the safety of your tap water, check with your local water district. You can also ask your local water district to test your water.

Always refer to the package label for the most up-to-date preparation instructions. Freshly prepared formula is best. Only, if necessary, refrigerate freshly prepared, unused formula within two hours between 35-40°F (2-4°C) and use within 24 hours. Do not freeze. Warm infant formula to room temperature and shake well before feeding. Any left over after feeding should be discarded and not stored.

Powdered formula can be used for one month after it has been opened. We don’t recommend using the formula after 30 days of opening because the nutrients start to degrade and if any water or moisture comes into contact with the formula bacteria can begin to grow.

Rest assured, the new 22.9oz Happy Baby formula canisters make 20 (8 fl oz) bottles, slightly more than our original 21oz canister which made 18-19 (8 fl oz) bottles. The scoop itself is smaller than our original, and formula is prepared with 1 scoop of powder to 1 ounce of water (instead of 1 scoop for every 2 ounces of water)! We believe the new 1:1 (water to scoops) ratio is more user-friendly, allowing parents to make easily make both even and odd fl oz sized bottles based on their baby’s needs. We understand that the new instructions can be confusing but no need to worry, through the new 22.9oz canister requires more scoops - it does not make less bottles than our 21oz original canister.

You can prepare about 20 (8-fl oz) bottles with our 22.9 oz container.

Palmitic acid is a major saturated fatty component of breast milk and contributes a significant source of energy to baby from breast milk. In infant formula, palm oil provides a source of palmitic acid unlike other vegetable oils, which is why we include it in our formulas to achieve a fatty acid profile consistent with breast milk.
